This bundle contains 4 modules.    The Bloodborne Pathogens module discusses what are bloodborne pathogens, how they are spread, and what to do if you are exposed to bloodborne pathogens. It is to be reviewed by new hires and existing employees as needed and on an annual basis.   The Hepatitis B Procedure inservice module and consent/declination form are given to all existing and newly hired employees. The inservice walks the employees through what the Hepatitis B Vaccine process is and makes them aware that they will be offered the opportunity to receive the vaccine on an annual basis if previously refused. The Hep B Vaccine process is also outlined in our Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan found within our OSHA Program Materials. The purpose of the Tuberculosis Awareness module is to raise awareness of what tuberculosis (TB) is; how it is transmitted; signs and symptoms of exposure, and the TB testing process for employees. It is to be reviewed by new hires and existing employees as needed and on an annual basis.   Preventing Slips, Trips & Falls and Safe Lifting, Pushing & Pulling module identifies common sources of potential slip, trip and fall hazards, areas to be inspected, along with how to safely lift, push and pull. This module is to be reviewed as needed and on an annual basis by all facility-level employees.   Read more

This emergency preparedness bundle addresses the steps to take in case of an active shooter, a bomb threat or threat of violence, a fire and during natural disasters and inclement weather. Read more

Staff and patient-resident safety is #1. The purpose of this module is to inform all facility staff, new and existing, of the potential hazards associated with the chemicals and products used in the facility, the PPE utilized, SDS binders and emergency procedures in case of exposure. This SDS module is part of the Hazard Communication program and reviews the basics of Safety Data Sheets (SDS). This inservice discusses, (1) when and how to use SDS, (2) the expectation of maintaining updated SDS; and, (3) the importance of identifying the location of SDS within the facility. These courses should be reviewed by facility level employees as needed and on an annual basis. Read more

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) inservice module covers what is and how to properly handle protected personal identifying information and to avoid the dissemination of such protected personal identifying information. It is to be reviewed by new hires and existing employees as needed and on an annual basis.   The Infection Control inservice module provides an overview of how to: (1) Prevent the spread of infection; (2) Investigate, control, and prevent infections in the facility; (3) Communicate the environmental and/or food services procedures that should be applied in the field; and (4) Maintain a record of incidents and corrective actions taken related to infections by reporting incidents through the proper facility chain of command. In addition to this program, it is important that all infection prevention and control practices reflect current Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines.
