Our policy is to educate employees as to the behaviors that constitute harassment, sexual harassment, and discrimination, and to make them aware of reporting procedures and consequences for those who engage in these prohibited behaviors. Description: This video discusses the different types of harassment; what is and what is not considered harassment, and; the investigatory and disciplinary process associated with harassment and discrimination cases. Employees are expected to treat residents with dignity and respect, which includes not limiting their autonomy or freedom of choice. Additionally, employees must respond to residents with cognitive impairments in a manner that facilitates communication and allows the resident the time to respond appropriately. Description: The purpose of this video inservice is for employees to develop a better understanding of the signs and symptoms of patients / residents with dementia, learn how best to react to people with dementia, and what to do if a patient or resident wanders or leaves the premises without appropriate supervision (elopement). Employees are instructed on how to address potential elopement and wandering. And, this inservice discusses the need to refer to the facility disaster and emergency preparedness plan to locate a missing resident. This inservice is a basic overview of dementia. Employees are also required to be cognizant of the facility's Fire Procedure and Evacuation Plan. This inservice is part of our Emergency Preparedness Plan. Description: This inservice outlines the employee training to take place regarding the location and use of the fire alarm, fire extinguishers, location of exits, collection points, RACE & PASS, and any responsibilities or procedures the facility may require. Our policy is to ensure employees are educated on the Hazard Communication Program, including the Globally Harmonized System, along with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), when and how to use SDS and their location(s) within the facility.   Description: The purpose of this video is to inform all facility staff, new and existing, of the potential hazards associated with the chemicals and products used in the facilities we service, PPE utilized, SDS binders and emergency procedures in case of exposure.
